Juan H. Hong, Esq. has dedicated over 25 years to serving the community of Queens County with their immigration, criminal, real estate, bankruptcy, matrimonial, and other civil matters. Juan also dedicates his time to his career as a professor at LaGuardia Community College, where he has taught since 2002. He teaches Legal Courses spanning the fields of Criminal Law to Immigration Law to Business Law, amongst other concentrations. Furthermore, Juan has served as a counsel for a NYS Senator and a NYC Councilwoman. He also has experience working as an Administrative Judge for the Environmental Control Board (OATH).

Juan was born in South Korea and immigrated to South America with his family when he was a toddler. He has lived in several countries: Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Venezuela. Juan and his family finally settled down in Queens, New York, where they owned and operated a deli grocery store.

After graduating from William Cullen Bryant High School, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Hunter College and a Law Degree from Albany Law School. Juan speaks both Korean and English fluently, and is a native Spanish speaker having grown up in South America for most of his childhood.

Juan has volunteered as a teacher for US Citizenship classes for Union Settlement, a non-profit organization. Additionally, he has volunteered for another major non-profit organization in NYC to assist attorneys in Immigration Deportation cases (removal proceedings).

Juan now lives in Bayside, Queens and has been happily married for over 20 years.

He has a daughter who is currently enrolled at the University of Rochester and is actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience.
