Why I’m running
I am running to be a civil court judge in Queens’ 6th municipal district because I believe that the people of queens deserve a judge who is qualified to do the job, is passionate about the people he serves, and is not influenced by politics.
In the United States of America, the three branches of government are meant to be separate. For too long, political parties have designated who can and cannot run to be a judge, so that they have control over the courts. I believe that is wrong, and I want to give power back to the people to democratically elect a judge who is not a part of the political establishment. I have no ties to any political parties, so when I serve as your judge I can make fair and honest decisions that are uninfluenced by what the party wants.
Not only do I want to make history by being the first democratically elected independent judge in queens, I am also the first Asian-Hispanic to run. By being elected as judge, I want to leave a legacy that other people like me, who are underrepresented or not part of the political machinery, have a chance to be elected to office as well.
